Mr. Clive Newman commenced his banking career in 1979 with RBS in London, England and having progressed, he then joined BNS Jamaica where he became Senior Relationship Manager, Business Development & Trade Finance. In this role, he not only managed a portfolio of large corporate companies with credit relationships, but he also accessed and managed financing from the likes of ACB, NDB, EXIM, GSM102 and World Bank (MIGA Loan funding).

Mr. Newman then moved on to the role of Deputy Country Head for Scotiabank in the wider Caribbean, before returning to the UK to join Bank of Scotland Corporate (HBOS) as an Associate Director. His journey along this career path placed him as Senior Manager with a bank in Barbados, where he was in charge of their commercial & consumer lending followed by his transitioning to VMBS. Mr. Newman’s extensive experience in corporate and commercial banking, locally and internationally has appropriately positioned him in his current capacity where he plays a major role in setting policies, managing credit risks and advising on credit matters generally.
