2016 National Leadership Prayer Breakfast to be held January 21
The National Leadership Prayer Breakfast Committee (NLPBC) today launched the 36th staging of the National Leadership Prayer Breakfast to be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel under the theme “Righteousness Exalts the Nation”.
Speaking at the media launch today, Chairman of the NLPBC, Rev. Dr. Stevenson Samuels said that the committee has great hopes for what can happen when there are synergies among the Church, Private Sector and the Government. He also noted that while there is support for the poor and vulnerable in the society, the needs of the nation’s leaders must not be ignored.
“We must not only pay attention to the poor and weak among us but also to the strong. We need to not only challenge our leaders but offer our help and support so that they can perform well in their various roles,” he emphasised.
Also speaking at the event, major sponsor, the Victoria Mutual Group, reiterated their commitment to this national event.
“We are proud to once again give support to the National Leadership Prayer Breakfast, and are encouraged by the ongoing impact it has had on our quest for peace, justice, reconciliation and unity as a country. The importance of this initiative cannot be overstated and we are looking forward to another successful event,” said Senior Vice President and Group Chief Financial Officer, Janice McKenley.
Each year, donations collected at the Breakfast are used to support individuals or organisations in need.
The charity that has been identified this year is the Eina Schader Home for the Aged in Trench Town. Donations can also be made outside the Breakfast, by making a deposit to the NLPBC Account at the Victoria Mutual Building Society, Account number 22684518.
Victoria Mutual has been supporting the National Leadership Prayer Breakfast for over 30 years.
