November 13, 2014
Vivienne Bayley-Hay, vice-president, group marketing and corporate affairs for Victoria Mutual, with Nicola Ramanand, brand manager of Courts, Unicomer Jamaica, assists Claudette Brown, the July winner of the VMBS Seven Keys promotion, in choosing appliances for her kitchen.
Membership at Victoria Mutual Building Society (VMBS) keeps improving better with the VM Seven Keys promotion in partnership with New Era Homes 2000 Limited, Courts (Unicomer Jamaica Limited), the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) and BH Paints. Victoria Mutual Building Society was founded more than 135 years ago, based on the principle of mutuality, with the intention being that average Jamaicans would be able to achieve their goal of homeownership.
Today, the organisation remains committed to the belief that homeownership is the key to financial independence and is the goal of many, and as such continues to support its members as they work towards achieving this goal.
For every $25,000 of savings in their accounts, members will receive five chances to enter for exciting prizes in the VM seven Keys promotion, including the grand prize of a beautiful two-bedroom house in Caymanas Country Club Estates valued at $13 million dollars. Existing VMBS savings or deposit account holders will also receive 10 chances for every $25,000 of new funds added to their savings or deposit account during the period of July 21 to December 31.
The more savings, the more chances members have to also win great monthly prizes, including furniture, appliances and electronics valued at up to $200,000. Members can also win vouchers for grocery, petrol and JPS coupons valued at $10,000.
According to Andrea Bicknell, branch manager at the VMBS Half-Way Tree location, the organisation operates for the benefit of its members, assisting them in building financial independence. "We are not just about building profit but also giving back. Winning a home is an awesome feeling and we want to ensure that we have our members covered," Bicknell said.
Christopher Denny, vice-president, distribution, said being member-focused, the organisation is excited about the campaign that has been gaining momentum since its launch in July.
"We have had at least a one-third increase in persons coming into our branches each month. In life we all want to have a home but we have to get to the point of saving towards owning a home. When you actually have your own home, you will never have to worry about where you will sleep at nights," Denny said.
Entrants for the VM Seven Keys promotion must be 18 years and older and must be the primary account holder. Winners will be randomly selected electronically and the promotion will be conducted islandwide at all VMBS locations.
Claudette Brown, the inaugural winner of the campaign, said she felt great after being declared the winner of $200,000 worth of appliances for her kitchen. "I have been a member for 20 years. This promotion is great and I wish very bank would offer the great products that VMBS offers," Brown said.
The final date for the submission of entries and deposits to VMBS for the promotion is Wednesday, December 31. The grand draw of the VMBS Seven Keys Promotion will take place on Friday, January 9, 2015 at the VMBS Corporate Office along Half-Way Tree Road.
